I’ve always loved throwing a party, but it’s the tiny yet remarkable details that go into planning it that fascinate me the most. I wanted to create an idyllic atmosphere for those who may not have the same love for tabletop decor details and hosting as I do. Sobremesa Tablescape was born from my travels, innate sense of style, and desire to create seamless gatherings with beautiful, pre-designed dinnerware rental styles. I want to eliminate the stress from your event or party by simplifying the hosting experience.

The inspiration for my business began over a Thanksgiving dinner I hosted for my chosen Dubai family. On that day, I realized my passion for making loved ones feel welcomed, loved, comfortable, and above all, dazzled. I loved planning every detail of the dining experience, from creating a fabulous tablescape, selecting impeccable table settings to mix and match the crockery to make the flower arrangements. I discovered that I relished cultivating beauty and curating special moments to be remembered and cherished.

I knew I had to make this personal calling into a bonafide business. I just wasn’t sure what to name my company. A dear friend brilliantly suggested the name Sobremesa, and it instantly clicked. It embodied the perfect meaning. While a Spanish-named company in Dubai may pique your interest, it was the most befitting word, as its two-fold meaning aligned flawlessly with my vision, as well as paid homage to my roots and native Spanish language. Sobremesa’s multiple meanings are applicable in every way. The literal English translation of Sobremesa means “above the table,” where my business flourishes. However, the charm in this word is the magical way it captures the experience of those special hours after a meal, where you linger at the table with dear friends and family, enjoying conversation, sharing stories, and laughing with one another. Creating these sacred moments for others is what this curated experience is all about for me.
